CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

  1. Students who have passed plus 2 (10+2) in their respective stream or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board in India or abroad which is considered as equivalent by the University shall be eligible for admission into the First Semester of Honours Degree Course.
  2. Students who have passed plus 2(10+2) or an equivalent examination from any stream from a recognized Board in India or abroad have the option to change To Arts Stream and the students from the Science Steam have the option to change to commerce Stream only.

REGISTRATION :

A Student shall be required to be registered under the university within one semester of his/her enrollment.

TRANSFER :

No inter-college transfer among the college shall be allowed beyond the First Semester Examination. Other transfer shall be allowed only on merit of each case as per NEHU Rules.

CHANGE OF CENTRE EXAMINATION:   

  1. A student shall apply to the controller of Examinations through the Principal of his/her college duly endorsed by the Principal of the college to which the change is being sought.
  2. As prescribed fee shall be deposited by NEHU Challan payable to the North Eastern Hill University and the instrument of payment shall be attached to the application form.
  3. Change of examination centre is not permitted to a centre/college to which the affiliation of the Subjects/Course has not been given by the university.

 

DURATION OF THE HONOURS DEGREE LEVEL EXAMINATION:   

  1. The Honours Degree Course will comprise six Semesters spread over three Academic years.
  2. Semester means a half-yearly programme or term of studies.
  3. 1st ,3rd and 5th will be odd Semesters.
  4. 2nd ,4th and 6th will be Even Semesters.

 

CONDUCT OF EXAMINATION:  

  1. At the end Semester, there shall be an examination as per the semester academic calendar given below.
  2. Evaluation in each course shall be on the basis of performance through continuous assessment and the end semester examinations. The weightage assigned to the continuous assessment and end semester examinations shall be in the ratio 1:3.

4. Students shall be allowed to proceed to the next semester irrespective of failed papers/arrear papers subject to payment of fees and fulfillment of other prescribed conditions laid down by the University.

i)         Compulsory Subjects - English, Alternative English/MIL, Envrionmental Studies.
